As a dentist and practice team, we are bound by professional secrecy (Art. 321 of the Swiss Criminal Code). Patient data that we process in the course of treatment is additionally governed by the treatment contract and cantonal health law.
2. Visiting the website and hosting
For technical reasons, our web server stores the IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page (referrer) and the browser and operating system in log files each time a page is requested. We use this data only to deliver the website and keep it secure, and delete it after 30 days.
The website is maintained by WIMOCO and hosted by NoFrillsCloud (ebox limited, New Zealand); the servers are located in a data centre of Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany. The connection is encrypted (HTTPS).
The website is delivered through the network of Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., USA), which makes it faster and protects it against attacks. Your page requests, including your IP address, pass through Cloudflare’s servers.
3. Cookies and your choice
Without your consent, we only set necessary cookies: for the language you have chosen (1 day) and for your choice in the cookie notice (cookies cmplz_* 1 year, wp_consent_* 30 days).
For visitors from Switzerland, the EU, the EEA and the United Kingdom, cookies from Google Analytics and Google Ads (section 4) are only set once you choose «Accept» or enable the «Statistics» or «Marketing» category. For visits from other countries, Google sets them before you make a choice; choosing «Deny» refuses them in that case too.
You can change your choice at any time: via the «Cookie settings» button shown on every page, or here:
4. Visitor statistics and Google services
Plausible Analytics (Plausible Insights OÜ, Tartu, Estonia): we count visits without cookies. The page requested, referring page, campaign details, browser, operating system, device type and country, region and city are recorded. The IP address is used only for a daily count that cannot be traced back to you, and it is not stored. Requests pass through our server; the data is processed in the EU. We only see aggregated figures. No consent is required for this.
Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads conversion tracking (Google Ireland Limited, Ireland, and Google LLC, USA), integrated via Google Tag Manager and Site Kit: with your consent, we learn how the website is used and measure whether a click on one of our ads leads to an enquiry (appointment booking, call, contact form). Cookies such as _ga (up to 2 years) and _gcl_au (90 days) are set. Before you consent, the Google tag only sends cookieless signals (e.g. page view, consent status); your IP address is transmitted to Google in the process. According to Google, Google Analytics does not store IP addresses from Switzerland and the EU; the data is deleted after 14 months. With your consent, Google Ads may also use visits to our website to show you our ads later on other websites and in Google services (remarketing); for this, Google sets further cookies on its own domains. More information in Google’s privacy policy.
5. Contact form, e-mail and phone
Through the contact form we receive your name, e-mail address, optionally your phone number, your request type, your message and the page, date and time. We use this information only to answer your request. The request is sent to the practice by e-mail and stored on our web server as a backup; you receive a confirmation of receipt without the content of your message. To protect against spam, Cloudflare Turnstile checks whether the request comes from a person when you fill in the form; your IP address and technical information about your browser are transmitted to Cloudflare in the process. For sending, we use Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc., USA); Resend deletes the e-mails after 30 days. We automatically delete stored requests and copies of sent e-mails on our web server after 30 days; if you become a patient, we transfer the necessary details to your patient record.
The same applies accordingly if you contact us by e-mail or phone. Our practice e-mails run on Microsoft 365 (Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, Ireland).
WhatsApp: a link on our website opens a chat with us in WhatsApp. WhatsApp only opens when you tap it; no data is sent to WhatsApp beforehand. Messages via WhatsApp are subject to WhatsApp’s privacy policy (WhatsApp Ireland Limited, Ireland, with transfers to Meta Platforms, Inc., USA).
Please do not send us health data via the form, by e-mail or via WhatsApp (e.g. symptoms, findings, X-rays): ordinary e-mails are not end-to-end encrypted, and WhatsApp is a third-party service. Please call us about medical matters.
6. Online appointment booking
The online appointment booking on our booking pages is provided by Martin Engineering AG, Nänikon, Switzerland (maker of our practice software ZaWin), and is loaded from their servers in Switzerland. The details you enter when booking (e.g. name, contact details, treatment, appointment) are sent to our appointment calendar. The booking form loads Google reCAPTCHA to prevent misuse; your IP address and browser information are transmitted to Google in the process.
7. Map, reviews and other content
- Google Maps: the map is only loaded after you click «Show map»; Google then receives your IP address and browser information.
- Google reviews: our server retrieves public reviews from Google at most once a day (name, rating, text, date) and deletes a review once Google has not returned it for 30 days. No data is sent to Google when you visit the website.
- Fonts, videos and images are loaded from our own server.
8. Recipients and disclosure abroad
We only pass on personal data where this is necessary for the purposes described, and we do not sell any data. Recipients that process data on our behalf are contractually bound to data protection and confidentiality:
- WIMOCO, Mexico: maintenance of the website and hosting, with access to contact form requests. Mexico does not provide an adequate level of data protection; we have therefore agreed the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses with the adaptations for Switzerland recognised by the FDPIC (Art. 16 para. 2 let. d FADP).
- NoFrillsCloud (ebox limited), New Zealand, with a data centre of Hetzner Online GmbH, Germany: hosting
- Cloudflare, Inc., USA: DNS, delivery and protection of the website and spam protection in the contact form (Turnstile); Cloudflare is certified under the Data Privacy Framework and also uses Standard Contractual Clauses with the adaptations for Switzerland.
- Plausible Insights OÜ, Estonia: visitor statistics
- Google Ireland Limited, Ireland, and Google LLC, USA: statistics, ad measurement, map, reCAPTCHA, retrieval of reviews. Google LLC is certified under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
- Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.), USA: e-mail delivery, based on Standard Contractual Clauses with the adaptations for Switzerland.
- Martin Engineering AG, Switzerland: online appointment booking
- Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, Ireland, and Microsoft Corporation, USA: the practice’s mailbox (Microsoft 365); Microsoft Corporation is certified under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
- LIVEN STUDIO SAS (WP Umbrella), France: security scans and backups of the website, data in the EU; backups are deleted after 50 days
- Authorities and courts, where we are legally obliged
Germany, Estonia, Ireland, France and New Zealand provide an adequate level of data protection under Annex 1 of the Data Protection Ordinance. You can request a copy of the Standard Contractual Clauses.
9. Retention and security
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose or required by law, and protect it with appropriate technical and organisational measures (e.g. HTTPS, restricted access rights, regular updates).
10. Your rights
You can request information about your data, have incorrect data corrected and data deleted, object to processing, request a copy of your data and withdraw consent, unless a legal obligation prevents this. Please use the contact details in section 1. You can also lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
11. Note for people in the EU
Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies in individual cases, we base web analytics, ad measurement and the Google map on your consent, the handling of requests and appointments on the preparation or performance of a contract, and the operation of the website, the Plausible visitor statistics and the reviews on our legitimate interest. You have the rights under Art. 15–21 GDPR and can lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your country of residence.
12. Changes
We update this privacy policy when our website or the legal situation changes. The version published on this page applies.
